Jacoba Francisca Maria Smulders is a Canadian actress, known by the stage name Cobie Smulders, known for her role as Robin Scherbatsky in television series. How I Met Your Mother and as Maria Hill in the 2012 Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Avengers and in other Marvel films such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier , Avengers: Age of Ultron and more recently Avengers: Infinity War.

In 2013 she starred in Safe Haven alongside Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough and then in They Got Together and The Deliveryman. She was cast in the TV movie Confirmation as Harriet Grant, but was forced to retire on Seta after suffering a leg injury and was then replaced by Zoe Lister-Jones.

In 2016, she starred in The Intervention alongside Melanie Lynskey, DuVall that same year, she also appeared in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Along with Tom Cruise, she played her character “Mother” in the Netflix series After Series the following year unfortunate events.

In 2010 she appeared in Love, Loss and What I Wore and in 2014 she lent her voice to the animated film The Lego Movie.
